Resin replacement in urea-formaldehyde resins

Borregaard provides technical support for UF resin substitution in different applications like particleboard, laminates and MDF.

Replacing 10% - 30% of UF resin with lignin at the board plant can reduce costs. Other potential benefits are possible including lower formaldehyde emissions, reduced swelling and cure acceleration. These biopolymers may be claimed as additional wood content and they come from sustainably managed forests. They also may act as a lubricant, providing you with increased grinding efficiency and lower power consumption.
