BioDrill RX

The superior performance of BioDrill RX can be observed when comparing the viscosity flow sweep of a 0.28wt.% suspension of BioDrill RX in 3.5% NaCl to a 0.28wt.% solution of xanthan. When conducting a viscosity flow sweep from 1000.0s-1 to 0.0001s-1, the measured viscosity of BioDrill at 0.0001s-1 is 124 times greater than xanthan. The higher viscosity of BioDrill RX at ultra-low shear represents a more highly robust network for the favorable suspension of solids, cutting, fines, and proppant while also maintaining its unique shear thinning ability as compared to xanthan, which allows for BioDrill RX to be easily pumpable.

Key takeaways:

  1. Improved anti-sedimentation of solids as compared to xanthan
  2. Superior shear-thinning ability which allows for the easy pumpability (pseudoplastic)
