Binding agent
Borregaard offers sustainable lignin-based binders that increase durability, reduce dust from attrition and improve storability. Our products improve the quality and consistency of pellets, granules, briquettes and extruded shapes for a wide range of substrates:
- Animal feed pellets
- Biomass
- Crop protection granules

- Process fines (ferrous or non-ferrous metals)
- Ramming paste
- Sand and soil (dust suppression and road stabilisation)
Typical processing includes briquetting, pelleting, granulation and compaction. These binding agents are versatile with low ash and no silicate, and provide good heat-stability.
Example of binding agent performance: This lab demonstration shows that a lignin-based binding agent is slowing the disintegration of a sandball in water compared to salt.
