Particle size measurement in carbon black slurry

Laboratory work demonstrates the effect of Borregaard biopolymer on the particle size distribution of a carbon black dispersion.

In the laboratory, a 5% weight carbon black was dispersed in 5 mM NaCl solution by sonication. The particle sizes were determined 1 min after the end of sonication, with and without the addition of Borregaard biopolymer.
