Phenol replacement with lignin in plywood phenolic resins

Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) is a method of assessing the environmental impact associated with all stages of a product's life from raw material extraction through materials processing, manufacture and distribution. Comparative LCA analyses of standard and lignin-based plywood PF resins has been conducted by Norwegian Institute for Sustainability Reasearch (NORSUS).

Borregaard’s lignin-based products perform significantly better than phenol when it comes to potential impact on climate change.
