De-agglomeration of Carbon nanotubes
Efficient dispersion of conductive carbon is essential for ensuring uniform electrode composition and optimising battery performance. When dispersing CNTs in water there are two main challenges:
- Stability of CNTs in water. Physical interlocking or entanglement among CNTs
- CNTs in water tend to agglomerate due to strong hydrophobic interactions

Stability of CNTs in water
By dissolving Vanisperse LI in water containing CNTs, the dispersant minimises carbon-to-carbon interactions, creating a stable dispersion of individual carbon nanostructures and effectively preventing re-agglomeration and sedimentation.
